Technology has literally changed the way we access information. It is at our finger tips with the click of a mouse or a touch of the screen. In many ways, it’s even changed the way we approach education…

IPADS/GOOGLE CLASSROOM

At High Point, we have integrated the use of iPads, and Google classroom into our curriculum. These teaching methods are used in grades K5-12. Adding technology in to our classrooms has positively benefited learning efficiency and teaching methods. Not only is it an enjoyable way to learn, but it engages students for learning in the 21st century, preparing them for college and beyond.

COMPUTER CLASS

Typing education has evolved in tandem with both the progression of computer technology and the decreasing age at which students are exposed to that technology. Standardized tests and metrics emphasize the need for even young learners to know how to successfully navigate a computer. Recognizing the need to prepare our young students and set them up for success in technology later on down the road, we have added a required keyboarding course for grades K5-8th.

LEGO ROBOTICS

High Point offers a comprehensive Lego robotics program for students in 4th-8th grade. Starting in 6th grade students can apply their skills competitively. Robotics is student-driven and instills teamwork, exploration, problem solving, and creativity. The Robotics Club provides students with a hands-on opportunity to explore and create in the world of engineering and programming.

COVENANT EYES

Technology is great. Our homes, schools, and workplaces are filled with devices that make life easier, quickly provide information to our questions, and connect us to others around the world. Despite the many benefits, it’s no secret that dangers exist with its use. Inappropriate content, without proper precautions, is available at our fingertips. HPBA partners with Covenant Eyes to help support our families in making God honoring choices about technology by implementing internet filters and limiting screen time.
