Our Purpose:
High Point Baptist Academy’s Learning Support Program believes in meeting the unique needs of every student so they can reach his or her highest learning potential. Our goal is for our students to be able to utilize their God-given abilities effectively and efficiently to positively influence the world.
Our Process:
Students that have a diagnosed learning disability submit all their supporting documentation, such as their IEP/504, evaluations by doctors/psychologists, existing academic support plans, etc. Once submitted, our Learning Support Team will evaluate the needs of the student and determine if High Point Babtist Academy is able to support those needs.
Our Support:
Through the creation of a learning support plan and a combination of resource room, push in, and pull out supports, we can support student learning in the regular classroom.
Additional Support:
The Berks County Intermediate Unit offers supplemental academic support to our students. The intervention specialist at High Point supports the school through universal screenings of all students in Grades K-6 in reading. Other types of support include supplemental reading support, which may take place in a small group or as a partnership with the teacher in the classroom, instructional coaching, professional development, and parent partnerships.
