According to Austrian philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein, “The limits of my language are the limits of my universe.” There is no doubt that learning Spanish will expand our student’s personal universe. We believe that learning another language will benefit students for the rest of their life. Incorporating Spanish into our curriculum is also a great way to identify students who have a talent for linguistic skills that could benefit and encourage them to learn other languages later on.

Elementary

  • We introduce the Spanish language to our elementary students starting in kindergarten.  We use songs, crafts, and games that help them remember vocabulary words.
  • We also introduce them to the Spanish speaking countries and learn about their culture.

Middle School

  • We reinforce vocabulary words and introduce basic conversation techniques.
  • We also focus on the need for learning Spanish and the importance of developing those skills.

High School

Spanish 1 and 2

  • We begin to work on grammar and pronunciation with listening, reading and writing the Spanish Language.
  • We use different computer programs to reinforce what we have learned in class in a unique and fun way.
  • Students start to understand the importance of learning Spanish and how it can be used in their future careers.

Spanish 3 (elective)

  • We put all that we have learned into practice.
  • We focus on Spanish conversation and how to use it in our daily life.
  • We study how to share the gospel in Spanish. Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
